Michael J. DiBlasio

Michael J. “Mike” DiBlasio, beloved husband, father, friend, and adventurer, passed away on August 10, 2026, at the age of 66. Born on January 13, 1960, Mike lived his life with curiosity, determination, and a mind that was always working on the next problem, project, or adventure. He proudly served his country as a Staff Sergeant in The United States Marine Corps for twelve years and later built a career with Dow Jones. But Mike’s life was never defined by his career alone. He loved to build things and work with his hands, whether woodworking, tackling a project around the house, or spending time working in the yard. He had an appreciation for horses and a particular love for eagles. Most of all, Mike loved to travel and explore. Planning the adventure was often as much a part of the fun as taking it. Camping trips with his wife and family created countless memories over the years, and there was always another place to see and another trip waiting to be planned. Mike leaves behind his wife, Jane, and his children, Sherry, John, and Tony, along with family, friends, and all those fortunate enough to have known him. He loved the family dogs (sometimes too much since they always knew he was good for a string-cheese when they saw him!) Mike built his life around duty and family. He fulfilled his duty to his country and remained devoted to his family throughout his life. Even at the end, his thoughts were with Jane. In one of his final gestures, he offered her his wedding ring, a quiet fulfillment of the promise he had made to her: till death do us part. His passing leaves a tremendous hole in the lives of the people who loved him. But Mike would not want that space left empty. He would want it filled with friends and family, projects worth building, places worth exploring, and adventures still waiting to be had. So perhaps Mike hasn't finished traveling after all. He's simply gone ahead of us on the next adventure. And knowing Mike, he'll be waiting for the rest of us to catch up, probably with everything already mapped out and ready to show us around. A service honoring Mike's life will be held on August 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Valley Burial & Cremation, 217 E Pioneer in Puyallup, Washington. A reception will follow at the same location. Afterward, family and friends will travel to Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, where Mike will be laid to rest. You can have flowers sent to: Valley Burial & Cremation 217 Pioneer Way E Puyallup, WA 98372 Please include “For the service of Michael DiBlasio — August 25” with the order.
