Loren E. Lee

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of a beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather, Loren E. Lee. Loren, 80, passed away peacefully at home in Bonney Lake, Washington, on September 15, 2026. He was born on August 6, 1946, in Portland, Oregon.

He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Jacqueline Petrick Lee; his son Mike Lee; his daughters Monica (Lee) Rutherford (Jim Rutherford), Amanda Weed, Courtney (Weed) Nicholl (Mike Nicholl), and Jennifer Buchanan (Curt Buchanan); and Mike Holton (Stacy Holton). He is also survived by his grandsons Tyler Rutherford, Mitchell Lee, Spencer Lee, Seth Conary, Rory Buchanan, Ben Holton, Noah Holton, and Eli Holton; his granddaughters Lauren Macia, Vivien Lee, Courtney Conary, Madelyn Nicholl, Sydney Nicholl, and Emma Holton; and his brothers Craig Lee, Thor Godtlibsen, Erik Godtlibsen, and Ivar Godtlibsen. He was preceded in death by his father, Emerald Lee; his mother, Phyllis Parker; and his grandparents Herman and Myrtle West and Amelia Lee.

After growing up in Portland, Oregon, he eventually made his way to Longview, Washington, his home for more than 40 years. Loren was a hard worker, spending more than 23 years at Longview Fibre. Retirement didn’t mean slowing down for Loren. He went on to work for Allied Universal, where he enjoyed working events throughout the area, including Seahawks games, Mariners games, University of Washington events, Microsoft events, and many others. He loved being around people, and retirement gave him another opportunity to stay busy, meet people, and make new friends.

He was involved with Kiwanis and the Navy League for many years and treasured the friendships he made through those organizations. He donated countless hours serving people in all kinds of ways through these organizations. He made friends wherever he went, stayed busy throughout his life, and never seemed to need much convincing about how things should be done. A memorial service will be held Friday, October 2, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Valley Burial & Cremation, 217 E. Pioneer, Puyallup, Washington, with a reception to follow.
