Lanny Earl Sturtz was born in Auburn WA on July 16th, 1953, to Paul and Joyce Sturtz and was taken home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 26th, 2026. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Anna Sturtz, his son Jeff (Leslie) and his 5 siblings - Doug, Loren (Jeanette), Patti, Paul and Becky.
Lanny graduated from Auburn High School in 1971 and upon graduation immediately entered the automotive industry which was his childhood dream. He spent 40+ loyal years working for Auburn Chevrolet as an auto technician before finally retiring in 2018.
Lanny was a devout Seattle sports fan and spent most of his life cheering on the Huskies, Seahawks, Sonics and Mariners. In his retirement years you could find Lanny lounging in the sun reading the paper and completing countless word puzzles. He was also a fiercely passionate supporter of his 3 grandchildren (Jax, Lathan and Everlee) where you would consistently find him in the stands, on the field or in the gym rooting them all on. His gentle demeanor, raspy voice and mild grumblings will be severely missed by those who spent the most time with him. His memories will live on in the hearts of those who love him and may he finally rest in the true comfort that only Heaven can provide him.
