We celebrate the life of Joshua “Spookz” Chandler-DeCelle who passed away peacefully in Graham, Washington on May 28, 2026. He was born in Los Angeles, California on November 11, 1980 by his mother Pamela Wendt and his father James DeCelle.
Joshua was a protector, a loving husband and dedicated father, his family meant everything to him. His legacy lives on through his wife Yvette DeCelle and children who are Irie DeCelle, Saofa’i DeCelle, Angel Armendariz, Rian Nelson, Destany Pacheco-Armendariz, Rudy Pacheco-Armendariz and Louie Pacheco-Armendariz. Including Joshua’s grandson Lazarus Armendariz, and his God-daughters Clara Rae Papp and Mia Rose Lozano. Joshua is also survived by his father James DeCelle, his stepmom Mary Santovito, his sister Roxanne Wendt and his nephew Alex Holcomb.
Joshua preceded his mother Pamela Wendt, stepfather Everett Hardy and his brother Kevin Wendt whose memories will live on with the families as well.
Joshua was a fighter all his life. His toughest battle was the one against polycystic kidney disease. He put up a great fight. He fought hard for years. He always said what helped him push through was the love and joy he received from his family and friends. That may not have healed him physically, but it healed him in other ways. Joshua was passionate about raising awareness about PKD, he and his family participated in walks and fundraisers alongside the PKD foundation to help find a cure for PKD. #endPKD #teamspookz
Joshua had so much love to give and those closest to him witnessed the extent he would go for those he considered family. He believed that family was determined by behavior not just by blood. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for those he loved. From being a shoulder you could cry on to being the big guy in your corner if someone needed a reminder of who they were messing with. He was someone you could count on. Joshua was surrounded by his chosen family who showed up for him without question and loved him unconditionally. He was incredibly grateful for all of them.
All those who knew him knew there was no Spookz without his beloved Raiders. He was a dedicated and proud member of the Raider Nation Wrecking Crew. He found so much joy in his role as the President of the Seattle chapter and cherished those who became family along the way. The bonds created were built on love, loyalty and respect.
There will never be another like him, and his absence will be deeply felt.
In Loving Memory of Joshua Chandler-DeCelle.
