James McLin Camp

James McLin Camp, age 73, of Spanaway, WA, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2026. He entered the world on February 17, 1953, in Birmingham, Alabama to his parents, Jimmy Camp and Sue Camp and siblings Landi and Mike.

For 42 years, James Camp worked as a Medical Pathologist in the United States Army, where he was known for his professional work ethic, sense of humor, and kindness. He entertained the lab staff with parties and did shows with music and magic tricks. Using wisdom, he lured his employees with chocolates so he could talk with them.

Outside of his career, he was deeply passionate about singing with local Barbershop Choruses and quartet everywhere he was stationed. His dream was to make movies, and he finished writing a trilogy. He was also devout in studying Christian Theology. He built a life anchored in Christian values, family devotion, honesty, unconditional love, and humility. He was a true walking Christian role model.

He survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Siria Camp; his children, Nathan, Philip, Hazel, Sarah and James; and his grandchildren, Wyatt, Laela, Shane, Ryder, Emma, Judah, Farris, Lauren, Ellie, Amelia, and Julian. He was preceded in death by his Father Jimmy Camp.

He leaves behind a legacy of leading singing for worship, prison ministry, Military Support Group, he taught Bible Class and loved ministering to new visitors. He preached in Alabama and was a youth minister in Oklahoma. He had some of the best dad's jokes! He had an open-door policy for anyone in need, and he was a true and faithful servant of the Lord.

The burial of James McLin Camp will be held on July 2nd, 2026, at 10:30AM at Tahoma National Cemetery.
