Gary Lee Pierce

Gary Lee Pierce, 84, passed away suddenly in his home in Graham, Washington, on September 17, 2026. Born in Tacoma, Washington, on October 12, 1941, to Joseph Rosco Pierce and Edna May Pierce (Simdars), Gary lived a life defined by service, craftsmanship, and a love for the open road.

Gary dedicated his career to public safety as a State Patrol Motorcycle Officer with the Washington State Patrol. A proud Vietnam veteran, he was an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). Following his retirement, he continued his passion for riding and fellowship through the Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club, where he held multiple board member roles and cherished the lifelong camaraderie of his fellow officers and riders.

An avid motorcyclist, Gary spent countless hours riding his Harley across the country. When he wasn't on the road, he could often be found in his woodshop, creating and building useful projects. Gary was known by all who knew him as a deeply compassionate, giving person who was always ready to lend a helping hand.

Gary is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Debra "Debbie" Dee Nelson Chapin; his children, Eric Pierce( Tonya), and Summer Pierce. Grandchildren Roberta & Jacob ( Megan). Gary’s sister, Pat Brueckner & Husband Don; Their children, Gary’s niece Stephanie (Darren) Englert, children Matthew & Madelyn. Nephew Chad ( Lina) Brueckner, children Jazzmin, Carissa, Eva & Ethan and extended family and friends. Gary’s special Goddaughter: Wendy Mayhew - Peterson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Edna Pierce.

A service celebrating Gary’s life will be October 7th at 2:00 p.m. at Valley Burial & Cremation, 217 E. Pioneer, Puyallup, WA 98372.
