Evelyn "Joyce" Jorgensen

A Life Remembered

Joyce passed away on June 1st, 2026 in Sumner, WA. Born in Fresno,CA on March 8th, 1932 to Folmer and Gladys Hansen, Joyce grew up with a deep connection to the Lord and strong relationships with her family. She and her husband joined Mt View Lutheran Church in Edgewood, WA where she has been a member for over 60 years.

Her Legacy

Joyce dedicated her life to being a mother and homemaker while her husband Peter worked for 40 years at Boeing providing for his family. When she wasn’t making delicious dishes to bring everyone together, she sang in the church choir, enjoyed reading and always made herself available for her children. Whether it was attending a school concert or taking care of her own parents as they aged, Joyce’s passion was always her family. She enjoyed puzzles, brainteasers and games, even making a yearly $1 bet with her father over the World Series. Joyce shared a special bond with her sister Fern and they exchanged eagle keepsakes annually since July 9th 1980 as they proclaimed their own holiday. Joyce lived her life treasuring every moment with her loved ones and in turn, they savored their moments with her.
