Donovan Rueben Larson

Donovan Rueben Larson, a lifelong resident of Puyallup, Washington, passed away on June 22, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born in Puyallup on April 19, 1933, to Rueben and Josephine Larson. He graduated from Puyallup High School with the Class of 1951 and later attended Pacific Lutheran College.

Don shared nearly 73 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Mary Ann. Together, they built a life centered on family, hard work, faith, and lasting friendships.

A dedicated member of the community, Don was a longtime member of the Eagles and Elks lodges, served for 20 years in the Washington National Guard, and spent 10 years as a Civil Service Commissioner for the City of Puyallup. He was also a founding member of the Washington State Fair Foundation's White Hat Club, reflecting his deep commitment to supporting the traditions and future of the fair that has long been an important part of the Puyallup community.

Don was best known as the owner of Larson's Glass, a family business that became a respected name throughout Western Washington. Working alongside Mary Ann and their two sons, he helped build a legacy that spanned generations. The family sold Larson's Glass in 2020 after 74 years of Larson family ownership.

Throughout his career, Don completed hundreds of school construction projects across Western Washington and took great pride in his work. Among his favorite accomplishments was installing the first gold Veratran reflective glass project at Allenmore Hospital and contributing to the construction of the original South Satellite at Sea-Tac Airport.

Away from work, Don enjoyed spending time at Mineral Lake, taking summer trips to Lake Tahoe, and cruising to Alaska. He especially cherished his annual Father's Day trips to Canada with family and friends, creating memories that will be treasured for years to come. He was an avid supporter of University of Washington Husky football, holding season tickets for four decades and proudly maintaining his Tyee Club membership. Don was also a lifelong member of Peace Lutheran Church in Puyallup.

Don is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann; his children, Doug Larson (Paula), Jerry Larson (Tyra), and Pam McGinley, all of Puyallup; his grandchildren, Gary McGinley, Konrad Larson, Jena Bizeau (Tim), Jared Larson (Shey), and Tray Larson; his sister, Rae Carbone; three great-granddaughters; and a fourth great-granddaughter expected soon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rueben and Josephine Larson, and his beloved grandson, Jonathan Larson.

Don will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, his strong work ethic, his service to his community, and the lasting impact he made on all who knew him. His legacy lives on in the family he loved the friendships he cherished, and the community he helped build.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 2nd at 11:00 am at Peace Lutheran Church, Puyallup. A reception will follow at the Fairview Club at the Washington State Fair.
