David Malik Kurney

David Malik Kurney was born on October 3, 1995, in Bellevue, Washington, to the proud parents David Kornell Kurney and Kanyoni Kurney. Malik obtained his GED in 2015 and later accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior, a moment that marked a new beginning in his life filled with faith and purpose.

Malik had a true passion for cooking and loved bringing people together through food. Whether it was a family meal or something he whipped up just because, Malik poured his heart into every dish. His food was always delicious but it was the love and laughter shared around the table that made those moments unforgettable.

He also found joy and freedom in skating, and peace out on the water while fishing in Alaska. Being on that boat was where he felt most at home. Malik worked harder than anyone, giving his all no matter how tough the day was. His dedication and determination reflected the strength of his spirit and the love he had for life.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving mother, Kanyoni Kurney; his father, David Kurney; and his siblings, Carnesha Kurney, David Kurney, Ira Kurney, Simone Kurney, Daneisha Kurney, and Jessica Kurney.

Also left to cherish his memories are his aunties and uncles Melette Kurney, Medina Kurney, Mona Kurney, Gerry Kurney, Diana Greenwood, Valerie, Laraine Harvey, Danny Harvey, Lisa Bowie, Reggic Bowie, Bilialan Hunter and Donald Hunter.

Malik was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Gloria Kurney, Benjamin Kurney, Sylvia Bowie, Robert Feacher, Vertie McRac and Willie McRac. His aunts and uncles Tony Bowie, Tony Kurney, Calbruce Green, Marilyn Hair, Anthony Kurney.

Though Malik's time here was far too short, his warmth, laughter, and love will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew him.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 1 at 2:00 p.m. at Valley Burial & Cremation, 217 E Pioneer. Puyallup, WA. 98372.
