Amy Carter passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, in Auburn, Washington, on April 18, 2026, following health complications. She was 48 years old.

 Amy was born on May 6, 1977, in San Antonio, Texas, to Dianne and Stan Sabens. She spent most of her childhood and young adulthood in Mobile, Alabama, where she developed a strong sense of creativity and curiosity that remained with her throughout her life.

 On January 2, 1999, Amy married the love of her life, Michael, in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Together they built a life centered on love, travel, raising their sons, Coyote and Memphis, and family. Amy cherished time spent exploring new places with her family and creating lasting memories through their shared adventures. 

Amy had a deep fascination for nature. She loved gardening and spending time outdoors, especially near the ocean. She was also a gifted artist with a passion for painting, expressing her creativity through her work and bringing beauty into the lives of those around her.

 Amy is survived by her devoted husband, Michael; her beloved sons, Coyote and Memphis; her father, Stan (Teresa); her brother, Steven (Theresa); her father-in-law, Charles; her mother-in-law, Laura (John); her brother-in-law, Chuck; her nephews, Riley and Isaac; her nieces, Madelyn and Leilani; as well as many aunts, uncles, and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her mother, Dianne Sabens; her grandparents; and several aunts and uncles. Amy is remembered for her creativity, her love of nature, and her deep devotion to her family. Her absence is deeply felt by all who knew and loved her.
